A Home Loan Health Check is a review of your current mortgage to determine whether it’s still the right fit for your circumstances. Your selected Mortgage Medic will assess factors such as your interest rate, loan features, repayment structure and overall suitability to see if there may be opportunities to save money or improve your loan. It’s the same idea behind our approach to preventative mortgage care.
It’s simple. Select a Mortgage Medic from your preferred region, complete our short online questionnaire about your home loan and your chosen broker will review your information. They’ll then contact you with their professional assessment and discuss any recommendations.
No. The health check is designed to give you an informed opinion. If your current loan is already a great fit, your Mortgage Medic will tell you. If there are opportunities to improve your situation, they’ll explain your options and the decision is always yours. Under Australian law, brokers are required to act in your best interests when recommending a loan.
There is no cost to complete the initial Home Loan Health Check through Mortgage Medics. Your selected Mortgage Medic will explain any costs that may apply if you choose to proceed with refinancing or another lending solution. You can read more about how our service is funded in our Role Clarification Statement.
As a general guide, it’s worth reviewing your home loan every two years, or sooner if your circumstances change. Changes such as starting a family, renovating, investing, consolidating debt, or interest rate movements could mean your current loan is no longer the best option.
No. Completing the questionnaire and receiving a Home Loan Health Check does not affect your credit score. If you later decide to apply for a new loan, your Mortgage Medic will explain when a credit enquiry may be required.
Yes. We take privacy seriously. The information you provide is only used to help your selected Mortgage Medic assess your home loan and contact you regarding your enquiry. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.
That’s actually great news. Not every health check results in a refinance. If your Mortgage Medic believes your loan remains competitive and suitable for your needs, they’ll let you know. Our goal is to provide honest, professional advice, not simply recommend a new loan. It’s part of our commitment to quality across the Mortgage Medics network
